a good book should leave you slightly exhausted at the end. You live several lives while reading it… (by Kiwi_GaL)

I usually try to stay up all night to watch the day change, but tonight I need sleep! I am so thankful mostly to God to have given me such an amazing 20 years with friends and family. I’m so blessed to be me and to have my life. I’m happy with everything right now. God really is good. This holiday celebrates such a hard time for Him and His earthly parents. It’s awkward to be young and unmarried and pregnant in today’s times, back then Mary was lucky not to have been killed. I can’t even imagine bearing the weight of her responsibility. Joseph was so amazing to love and protect her like her did, and to get them all where they needed to be. Then for two young people, scared absolutely shitless by the things happening to them, to deliver the son of God in a filthy barn, and to raise Him until He was old enough to grow into His purpose, it’s amazing. We all love the presents, but we couldn’t just take time off and forget about the world to indulge ourselves if a tiny baby who grew into the greatest man of all time hadn’t come to Earth, knowing he was going to end up dying a horrific death at the hands of people he loved. I love Easter too because we celebrate the sacrafice and we honor God for what He did for us, but Christmas has always made me jubilant because it’s when we slow down and celebrate THE gift. Even if you’re not a Christian I don’t see how that story isn’t inspiring. We live in a world that celebrates being “open-minded” and loving everybody but so many people shun Christianity. I don’t know what’s better than someone who came to die so the people He loved could live. His rules don’t hurt you, they’re hard to live by but there’s nothing painful or harmful about being good to others, taking care of yourself, not lying, knowing that respect is one of the most important parts of love, but people act like Christianity is a ball and chain. I could go on and on comparing what people say are drawbacks to Christianity with the truth but that’s for another time. For tonight, it’s Happy Birthday, Jesus! and Love to everyone I know, and don’t know! Today is truly the most awesome day of the year :)
